(My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me)
Men seem to cry out often
When their hearts’ desires
Have not been granted
They cry out in despair
And frustration
From the depths of their hearts
And the deepest recess of their spirits
They dwell on past pains and sorrows
And seem to forget about their tomorrow
They wail in agony
And bicker on frustration
Unto God
Wanting things their own way; the easy life
They detest suffering and pain
And want the easy way out
And refuse to see the purpose of their suffering
Suffering moulds us into better beings
It shapes us into the person God wants us to be
And destroys old character and habits
Impatient and full of themselves
Men try to shape their destiny themselves
And end up causing more harm and havoc to themselves
They run far and near
To see their pain obliterated
To good and bad
To end the sorrow
At the peak of their desperation
They can do anything
To end it all
Believe lies
Spend all their money
Even kill one of their own
In a bid to see
Shame exterminated
Sorrow executed
And despair killed
They curse God
And insult Him to His face
Because they feel he is the cause of their problem
But their situation turns for good
And their passing through becomes a breakthrough
The curse turns to blessings
And the insults turn to praise
Unto the mighty God
As they finally grasp the purpose
As their faith is strengthened
And they realize that God
Had only been trying to teach them patience.
