Write down your goal. Until you write down a goal, it is only a wish. When it is written, it becomes a focused objective. Put it down on paper. When it is on paper, boil it down to a single sentence: what do you want to do, exactly when you intend to start (which should be right now), exactly when you plan to achieve your goal? Everything should be sharp, clear and definite. No reservations or qualifications. Just one strong, simple, declarative sentence. This deadline technique is crucial in major ambitions and minor ones.
Imagine your weight goal. If setting worthy goals is the first step on the road to success, the second is the belief or the conviction that you are capable of achieving those goals. There has to be in your mind the unshakable image of yourself succeeding at the goal you have set for yourself. The more vivid this image is, the more obtainable the goal becomes. The more intensely you imagine your goal before it happens, the higher your confidence in yourself and the better your chances of making it happen.
Discard the failure image. Even people who have a long record of not succeeding can be turned into tremendous achievers if they will discard the images of themselves as failures or never do wells and become God trusting individuals whose attainment of desired goals is just a matter of time and a specific length of time at that. People who want to succeed in life not only have to build a healthy self-image, but they also have to get that image across to the people whose goodwill and support they need to get ahead.
