Ben, a young Christian leader, meets and falls in love with the beautiful Augusta in what seems to be love at first sight. His obsession for Augusta is almost mutual, and a passionate relationship which ought to metamorphose into marriage is kindled between the unlikely couple. But will their dreams of marital bliss blend with Ben’s lofty vision of building leaders in the Body of Christ?
A live band now struck a romantic tune and couples took to the dance floor.
“Do you want to dance?” Augusta leaned over to Ben.
“I have not danced in a very long time,” he said, looking over his shoulders, as though someone was coming to take him home.
“Please let’s dance,” she begged, “this is my favourite number, and the melody is so soothing. . .”
It was a slow waltz. Ben rose to dance with Augusta, but in his heart, he hoped it would be over quickly. Once on the dance floor, Augusta took charge. She took Ben in her arms, sidestepped with him here and there, ground her waist against his groin as she swayed her frame slowly to the beat and whispered directions and dance steps playfully into his ear.
Suddenly, the band hit an even slower tune. A very slow one. Couples on the dance floor were automatically fused as the dim lights became dimmer on the dance floor. Before Ben could decide otherwise, Augusta inched closer into his tall frame and arched her body against his.
