“Fruit of the Spirit” is a biblical term that sums up the nine visible attributes of a genuinely Christian life (Galatians 5:22-23). We learn from scripture that these are not individual “fruits” from which we pick and choose. Rather, the product of the Spirit is one ninefold “fruit” that characterises all who actually walk in the Holy Spirit. Collectively, these are the fruits that all Christians should be producing in their new lives with Jesus Christ. This submenu on Christian ethics harps on an age-long system of moral principle or rules of behaviour that identifies every child of God and sets them apart from the lust and wild desires of the world.

Then He said to the crowd, “Don’t be greedy! Owning a lot of things won’t make your life safe.” — Jesus in Luke 12:15 Somehow the Gospel came down to … get money, give it to church or an anointed pastor/minister and then prosperity will come. We shall eat and be fat and make merry. Though …

We find the story of Mary Magdalene first mentioned in the gospel according to Luke 8: 2. She was the woman from whom the Lord Jesus cast out seven demons and the spirit of infirmity during his ministry on earth. I promised some weeks ago that I will continue the life skill of asking and go further to show you “how to ask.” Asking is a skill. Recently I ran into a lady I had known for a while. Though we hardly say much to each other, we had a rapport. On the said date, she was downcast. I noticed her and enquired what the issue was. She told me, it was nothing she could not handle. I told her that I knew she …

We are introduced to Deborah in the book of Judges. She was a prophetess of God, and she was also mentioned to be the wife of Lapidoth. She was a judge in Israel and dwelt on Mt. Ephraim under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel. She was also a war general, not …

At the tail end of my SSCE exams in secondary school, I was walking from my class to the exams hall and I walked into my dear Chemistry teacher, Mrs PM Joseph. As usual, we had our chit-chat and she said something that was remarkable to me. I did not know it then but looking …

So then faith cometh by hearing … — Paul How did you come about your view of the world? I can tell you it came by most of the stories you heard. Those stories coloured your perspective and you saw life through those lenses. What you hear and give yourself to plants the seeds of what you …

Judges 11 introduces us to a Bible Character — Jephthah. I first heard about him as a man who made a vow to God, the vow went awry, but he went ahead to fulfil his vows. That is the story I was told in Sunday school as a child. I have not bothered about him …
